Christmas Message from State Deputy

My Friends,

I am wishing you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We are in advent, preparing to celebrate the birth of our Savior, an event that leads to our salvation.

We all remember the word problems in math class. I remember that to solve those problems; you always start with what is given. As we prepare for Christmas, we should do the same, start with what we have been given, our blessings. As I begin to think about my blessings, I am reminded of a school project.

The question was to name the Seven Wonders of the World. Most students answered items like the Great Pyramid of Gaza, the Roman Coliseum, and the Taj Mahal in India. One student gave her answer but struggled with number seven and finally came up with this. Her answer to the Seven Wonders of the World was: The ability to hear, the ability to see, the ability to touch, the ability to taste, the ability to speak, the ability to smell. Her final wonder was the ability to Love.

We do not need to look far for our blessings. They include our life, our salvation, our family, our membership in this Order and countless others. By counting our blessing every day, we are less likely to let problems and challenges of our lives get us down.

So, let us commit, during this Year of Faith and Advent season to count our blessings; love and respect our fellow man; and to have a Christ centered Christmas.

May you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fraternally,

Raymond F. Warriner, PhD
