Diocese Event

Bishop Vann Invitation for Nov 16

Dear Friends in the Lord,

I hope you will join me at Christ Cathedral on Nov. 16th at 10:00 a.m. for “Witness to Mercy: Celebrating Service and Justice in the Diocese of Orange”.

Just a few short months ago we dedicated Christ Cathedral and were reminded of our mission as Jesus’s missionary disciples to share the Good News of the Kingdom of God with the world, good news especially for the poor and vulnerable. We prayed in the Cathedral Dedication Prayer that “the poor [would] find mercy, the oppressed attain true freedom, and all people be clothed with the dignity of your children.”

Join me as we pray together and hear a keynote address from Kim Mazyck of Catholic Charities USA. We will have a commissioning, a meal together with conversation, and ample opportunity to visit the Stations of Service and Justice around the Cathedral Campus, where you will be able to connect with organizations throughout the Diocese with whom we work and care for others together. At each station you will have the opportunity to learn something new, take action, and take something back home to engage your family, parish, and community. Stations include: Foster Care, Migration, Restorative Justice, Family Violence, Homelessness, Food/Hunger, Special Needs, Human Trafficking, Pregnancy, Care for Creation, and Mental Health, plus Health Ministries, 2020 Census, OC Registrar of Voters, OneLife LA, and the California Catholic Conference.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to connect with good work for the life and dignity of the human person and the common good here in Orange County!
